Duke Gardens Mini Sessions: March 12, 2011

I had four 25 minute sessions on Saturday, March 12 at Duke Gardens.  It was a beautiful day; warm and sunny (oh, how I wish that weather would return instead of it being so cold this week!) and I enjoyed my time that I spent photographing these sweet families.

Maxwells:  My aunt is this little angel's preschool teacher in Wake Forest.  I was so happy to meet this family and share in many laughs throughout our session together.  I look forward to their second daughter being born soon and having the opportunity to photograph her as well!

Sydney Woodside: Sydney's Mommy graduated with my husband and It was nice to see Stephanie again (she hasn't changed one bit since high school!) since I had not seen her since their high school reunion 3 years ago.  I expected this session to be a challenge since Sydney is so young, but she was a perfect model!  She is so adorable and I hope to have more opportunites to photograph her as well in the near future!

Will & Lane West:  These little cuties are good friends of our family.  This is the second time I was able to photograph them and they behaved so so well!  Their sweet personalities shined as bright as the sun on this day!  I love how you can see the "brotherly love" in these images! 

Bignem Family:  This family was so patient with me since the sun was so bright and we had to move to different locations throughout our session!  The oldest son might just be my assistant one day as he was full of ideas and so willing to be photographed!  It really makes for an enjoyable day when everyone is "into" it!  :)  Chance and Donna were also able to take advantage of an opportunity to have a few photos alone which is rare for those of us once we have children!  Aren't they such a loving family?





Shelby Helen Ruger- I month old

Shelby's mother and I became friends over twenty years ago, in elementary school.  It was fun to spend time catching up with an old friend and photographing her new daughter.  Shelby was a little modest and was not too excited about the photos without her clothes, but once she was dressed, she was a perfect model!  :)  She is so sweet and I must admit that rocking the babies after our sessions is my favorite part.  "Mom" and "Dad" offered to let me spend the night to have that opportunity at 1am and 3am, but that is the fun part about being a photographer of newborns- I get to stay for the fun and not have to worry about the sleep deprivation that comes with being a parent of a newborn!  Ha!  Here is a sneek peek!

Jayde Edwards - newborn (almost 3 wks)

This is a sneak preview of last Saturday's Newborn Session.  I had the privilege of photographing her parents in a "Maternity Session" in December and it was such a joy to get to capture this special begining of a new journey in their lives!  Isn't Jayde precious?!  (I especially love the image of her "smiling" at her daddy!)

Patrick is Almost 2!!

Baby Cooper

This past Friday, I spent the morning photographing another friend's 6-month old baby boy.  He has such a sweet disposition and was such a perfect model.  I love love love his chunky thighs!  :)  I know you'll agree that is is simply adorable:
